a place that i have stayed a few times this year is Europa park, it can be a bit cheesy but has a few log cabins, tent pitches and little caravans to stay in. there is a sauna/pool etc on site and it isn't too pricey.

You can see what the waves are doing at Woolacombe from the site and the drive to croyde/saunton/puts isn't too harsh.

probably the biggest draw is that it is 2 for 1 drinks between 9 and 10 every night in the bar. They can be a bit officious but it is actually kind of funny.

We stayed at Kingsacre House for a weekend. It is run by the nicest couple in the world who also surf.

Fresh cakes waiting in the room for a post-surf cuppa. They're planning on building an outdoor shower and wetsuit drying area and secure storage for your boards.
